
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — An individual from Shreveport has been convicted for the sexual abuse of a female relative lasting more than four years.
The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office reports that Billy Ray Ford Jr., aged 47, was found guilty on Thursday, April 10, in the Caddo District Court. According to officials, these offenses took place from early 2003 through late 2007. At the time of the incidents, the victim was a teenager who initially informed her parents about the abuses in 2004 but wasn’t taken seriously.
The DA’s office claims Ford persistently molested the victim, starting with inappropriate touching and later progressing to sexual intercourse.

During the trial, the jury listened to testimony from both the victim and the investigating detective. They also heard from the victim’s mother and stepfather, who testified in support of Ford. After approximately one and a half hours of deliberation, the jurors found Ford guilty on all charges.
The District Attorney’s office states that Ford is involved. prior conviction in Bossier Parish For sexually abusing another family member, Ford faces consequences under a habitual offender law, leading to potential enhancement of his sentencing.
Ford is set to be sentenced on May 19.
