Seventeen: First U.S. Group to Earn Triple Platinum for Japanese Single 'Shohikigen'

The boy band Seventeen was awarded its inaugural triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for their fourth Japanese single titled "Shohikigen," released in 2024.

The song, which was launched on November 27th of last year, surpassed sales of 750,000 units by March, marking it as Seventeen's initial single to exceed this benchmark in Japan. It achieved dual-platinum status after selling half a million copies during November itself.

Currently, Seventeen has acquired five triple platinum certifications, as reported by Pledis Entertainment.

The group plans to host fan meet-and-greet sessions on April 24, 26, and 27 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, followed by additional gatherings on May 10 and 11 at the Saitama Super Arena.

Last Friday, Seventeen topped the bill at Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025, becoming the inaugural K-pop act to headline one of Latin America’s biggest music festivals.
