Jail Conjugal Visits Set to Last 2 Hours

(ROME, April 11) — Under new guidelines issued by Penitentiary System Chief Lina Di Domenico on Friday, conjugal visits at Italian prisons will now last two hours and occur within a designated area containing a bed along with hygiene amenities where the internal locking mechanism has been disabled. These visitations will match the current frequency allowed for regular meetings per month. According to Di Domenico, these rooms will undergo inspection both prior to and following use, all under surveillance conducted by appropriately outfitted personnel. (Diwida |).
