GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Greeneville Police Department (GPD) has recognized both the victim and the suspect involved in a deadly stabbing incident that took place on Thursday evening.
The Greeneville Police Department reported that they received calls around 9 p.m. concerning a stabbing incident in the 100 block of North Sunset Boulevard.
When they arrived, the officers discovered an unconscious male individual who had sustained stabbing injuries to his upper torso, according to the GPD report.
The individual was transported to a close-by medical facility, where they succumbed to their wounds at a later time. On Friday morning, the GPD recognized the deceased as 30-year-old Isaiah Q. Bowden from Blountsville.
The GPD announced that a suspect has been apprehended. The individual identified as Perry Schoolfield Jr., from Dewitt, Virginia, is alleged to be involved.
Schoolfield has been accused of second-degree murder.
By Friday, Schoolfield was detained at the Greene County Detention Center with a bond amounting to $600,000. His hearing is scheduled for Friday morning.
The GPD states that the reason behind the lethal stabbing remains under investigation.
