The officers instructed Shriner multiple times to release the handgun, but she did not comply," states an LAPD report. "Subsequently, Shriner aimed the firearm at the police officers, leading to an officer-involved shooting incident." During a press briefing on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar stated that law enforcement could not ascertain from the available evidence—such as footage from police body cams—whether Shriner had discharged the firearm.

She has been married to Scott Shriner, the bass player of the rock band Weezer, since 2005. Weezer is recently added to the Coachella Festival The lineup for this upcoming weekend includes performances at the Mojave tent on Saturday.
