Police officers were trying to follow up on a suspect involved in a separate hit-and-run case when they noticed a woman at a nearby house holding a pistol, as reported by law enforcement officials. The woman was subsequently recognized as Jillian Shriner.
The officers instructed Shriner multiple times to release the handgun, but she did not comply," states an LAPD report. "Subsequently, Shriner aimed the firearm at the police officers, leading to an officer-involved shooting incident."
