Teen Arrested After Injuring St. Louis County Park Ranger in Crash

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. - Law enforcement officials have apprehended one teenager suspected of involvement in an accident that left a St. Louis County park ranger injured earlier last month.

On Thursday, a 17-year-old boy surrendered himself to the St. Louis County Family Court authorities.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the accused individual is detained facing charges including first-degree assault, resisting arrest, severe flight from custody, and armed criminal activity.

The FBI and local police are digging up yards in southern St. Louis as they hunt for a missing individual.

The accusations stem from an event on March 29 when the ranger fired shots following the striking of his vehicle. This took place at approximately 8:15 p.m., in the area of 3000 block on Adie Road.

According to investigators, a park ranger spotted two suspicious vehicles in McDonnell Park. These vehicles promptly exited the park and one of them collided with the ranger's vehicle during their departure.

Following this, the ranger discharged his firearm at the vehicle. After the event, the park ranger was transported to the medical facility. Fortunately, his wounds were not considered critical.

Nobody was hit by gunshots. Initially, one individual of interest was detained that night.

The St. Louis County police indicate that the park ranger is 33 years old and possesses four years of experience in law enforcement.
