A man was taken into custody for allegedly killing a person from Hemet in Lake Elsinore late Monday evening, April 7.
Around 11 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of North Poe Street based on reports from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. They discovered Marcus Bryant, aged 37, within a house suffering from a gunshot injury. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his wounds at the location.
Law enforcement officials took several individuals into custody at their residence and subsequently questioned them at the Lake Elsinore sheriff’s station.
George Eddie Steven Thompson, aged 39 from Lake Elsinore, was apprehended by authorities on charges of murder and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, according to statements made by the Sheriff’s Department.
