Raymond Nattress sentenced for repeated child rape

A man from Pennsylvania, who sexually abused a child across multiple months, has been sentenced to between 30 and 46 years behind bars, as stated by State Attorney General Dave Sunday on Tuesday, April 8.

Raymond Douglas Nattress, aged 46 from Lower Allen Township, has been found guilty of three charges of raping a child, two charges of engaging in involuntary deviant sexual acts, as well as single counts of committing aggravated indecent assault, simple indecent assault, and corrupting minors. This information comes from the Attorney General’s office.

The mistreatment started in August 2020 and persisted till February 2021, at which point the survivor courageously spoke up, according to officials.

Initially, the investigation was conducted by the Lower Allen Township police before being handed over to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. Following the trial, a judge from Cumberland County sentenced Nattress to a term of 23 to 46 years behind bars, succeeded by 12 years of probation. Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender indefinitely.

Those who target and continually abuse children have no right to remain within a free society," stated Attorney General Sunday. "The courage displayed by the victim in sharing their experience, combined with the excellent efforts of the Lower Allen Township police and my team, has guaranteed that the accused will spend several decades in prison.

Jaime Keating, who served as Senior Deputy Attorney General, handled the prosecution of the case.
