Father Arrested After 4-Year-Old Wanders Alone Through Arby's Drive-Thru

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — A male individual was arrested following the discovery of a barefoot, unsupervised 4-year-old at an Arby’s drive-thru Florida .

As stated in an affidavit, a worried citizen was approached by the girl on Tuesday, informing them that she was feeling hungry.

The individual escorted the girl into the eatery, purchased meals for her, and located a pair of footwear for her to use.

The document stated that the officers found the child’s father, Clyde Thompson, aged 31, who mentioned he had no knowledge of the girl being at Arby’s.

Thompson informed the deputies that he gave the 4-year-old a doughnut for breakfast at approximately 9 a.m.

The youngster was found at 5:47 p.m.

In the affidavit, Thompson stated that he believed the child was at a neighbor’s place; however, he confessed to the deputies that he neither accompanied the child to the house nor verified her well-being during the day.

The deputies mentioned that Thompson informed them he did not possess the neighbor's contact details and assumed his wife had made arrangements with them to look after the child during her shift at work.

The deputies talked to the neighbor, who mentioned that the child visited their place multiple times during the day but was always taken back home each occasion.

The neighbor informed the deputies that nobody had arranged for supervision of the 4-year-old.

The document stated that the officials talked to the girl and her 8-year-old brother, who informed them that their dad stays asleep throughout the day and has never provided them with meals.
