The survivor of a sexual predator declared "you have not won" as their assailant was sent to jail.
Richard Krakowski pleaded guilty to seven charges of sexual assault and one charge of voyeurism spanning a 12-year timeframe at the same courthouse in December.
The individual, who is 72 years old and resides on Roman Road in Blackburn, received a sentence of nine years and three months at the Preston Crown Court prior to this occasion.
The misconduct, occurring from 2012 to 2024, involved Krakowski sexually assaulting his victim and recording these acts to satisfy his "perverted sexual desires." Additionally, he set up a covert camera in a restroom to capture her both on film and in photographs.
'Depraved'
The police were informed when an SD card was handed over to another person, with Krakowski believing it contained only a harmless recording.
Rather, numerous pictures and video clips depicting Krakowski's misconduct were retrieved from the memory card.
In a declaration presented to the court, the victim stated: "I trust you won't have the opportunity to harm another person in such a manner ever again."
I'm reconstructing my life and growing more resilient each day.
"You have not won."
Detective Constable Beth Turner stated that the victim's courage "ensures that Krakowski can no longer harm or mistreat anyone."
Krakowski is a sexual predator," she stated. "He exploited his victim for his personal sexual satisfaction.
He documented the mistreatment to satisfy his twisted sexual desires, leaving others to handle the aftermath of the devastation he wrought.
His behavior could only be termed as appalling.
