Trooper Takedown: DCFS Worker Arrested & Charged as Pot Dealer

Police report that they have apprehended an individual today who had been responsible for looking after the well-being of children in Louisiana; however, he is also accused of being involved in selling marijuana.

Sergeant Kate Stegall stated in a press release that troopers from Troop NOLA apprehended 27-year-old Anthony Reed, who works for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in New Orleans, after investigating a traffic stop.

In the early afternoon, the Louisiana State Police stopped Reed.

Policemen carried out a traffic stop on a Toyota sedan being operated by Reed due to several traffic infractions on North Claiborne Avenue close to Elysian Fields Avenue.

Stegall states that they discovered 218 grams of suspected marijuana along with "items indicative of the distribution of illegal drugs" in the rear seat area.

Reed was taken into custody and admitted to Orleans Parish Jail forPossessing Marijuana with the Intention to Sell, along with several violations related to driving.

David Matlock, the Secretary of the Department of Children and Family Services, issued a statement tonight:
