Snowy April Ignites: 2025 Happy Yanggu Cup National Youth Football Festival Concludes in Three-Day Thrill

The "2025 Happy Yanggu Cup National Youth Football Club Festival," which took place over three days in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon Province, concluded triumphantly on the 13th with the finale. Notably, even though an unexpected snowy April brought chilly conditions, the enthusiasm and resolve of the young participants remained high at the Yanggu Sports Complex as well as at Stadiums B and C.

Following the group stage that commenced on the 11th, the finals and award ceremonies for each category took place on the 13th. The children demonstrated the genuine spirit of sport through their unwavering dedication and resilience, surpassing even the challenging conditions imposed by the weather.

The awards ceremony took place at Yanggu Sports Complex starting at 3:30 p.m. that day, conducted with solemnity by emcee Yoon Sun-ha.

The victorious team was awarded a trophy, a gold medal, a prize for the best player, a distinction for the best leader, and a Yanggu Love Gift Certificate worth 200,000 won. The second-place team got a trophy, a silver medal, an accolade for an outstanding player, along with a Yanggu Love Gift Certificate valued at 100,000 won. Meanwhile, the teams tied for third place each earned a trophy, a bronze medal, and a Yanggu Love Gift Certificate amounting to 50,000 won. All these recognitions were presented amidst appreciative applause from everyone present, acknowledging the hard work and dedication shown by all the young participants.

Representative Moon Sung-hwan from SH Sports Agency, who organized this event, mentioned, “Despite the snowy weather in April, the children’s zeal remained unwavered.” He expressed his hope that their experience in Yanggu would become a cherished warmth embedded deeply within the children’s memories for years to come.

The governor of Yanggu County, Seo Heung-won, who was present at the event, stated, "Our aim for Yanggu is to foster the future of Korea collectively via youth sports. In this vein, we plan to keep organizing such opportunities moving forward."
