RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Rankin County deputies arrested a man and a woman who were accused of selling methamphetamine from a home.
On Thursday, April 10, around midday, authorities carried out a residential search warrant at a house located on Tami Avenue close to Richland.
Tyler Burnell, an investigator from the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, reported that Barry Tatum Yawn, aged 43, and Dawn Marie Martin, who is 46 years old, have been taken into custody. According to him, several parcels containing methamphetamine were seized along with a 9mm pistol during the operation.
Yawn faced charges for possessing a controlled substance with the intention to sell or distribute, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and conspiring to commit a felony. Martin was accused of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and also of conspiring to commit a felony.
Yawn and Martin were both taken to the Rankin County Detention Center. According to Burnell, they will remain in custody without bail until their first court appearance in Rankin County Court.
