Drugs and Cash Seized: Major Takedown Nets Fentanyl, Cocaine, Meth, Weed, Guns, and $17K in Junction City

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) — On Wednesday night, law enforcement conducted two drug raids in Junction City which resulted in the seizure of various illicit substances, firearms, and money, according to officials.

The raids occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at homes located on the 1100 block of Haven Drive and the 2200 block of Thompson Drive in Junction City.

Members of the Junction City Police Department and Geary County Sheriff’s Office carried out search warrants at residential properties.

The authorities stated that these arrest warrants marked the end result of a months-long drug probe.

When carrying out the search warrants, officials stated that law enforcement confiscated around 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine along with various amounts of cocaine, marijuana, and fentanyl. Additionally, they found about $17,000 in American cash and three guns.

According to authorities, one of the weapons retrieved was listed as stolen.

Following the probe, Mashaun J. Baker, aged 39 and from Junction City, was taken into custody regarding charges such as distributing specific stimulants; possessing cannabis; holding drug equipment intended for making illegal drugs; lacking a required tax stamp for marijuana or other controlled substances; illegally obtaining profits from drug deals; and being in possession of stolen items.

Officials stated that the inquiry was still in progress.
