A recurring weakness for Los Angeles has consistently been turnovers. These mistakes have cost them dearly, with the Mavericks capitalizing on every opportunity. Following a 3-point shot by ex-Splash Brother Klay Thompson from one such turnover, Dallas prompted Los Angeles to call a timeout.
Coming out of the timeout, Rui hit a jump shot near the basket. Following an 9-0 surge by the Lakers, PJ Washington consecutive scoring streak amounted to six points for Dallas.
It was inconsequential, however, since Los Angeles maintained pressure with LeBron leading the offensive surge. He managed to score several tough layups despite the presence of numerous Mavericks defenders.
In the final moments of the match, Luka dominated with seven points, accompanied by ceaseless encouragement from both his fellow players and the crowd in Dallas.
