Cape Fear is scheduled to make its debut on Apple TV Plus for a third time, this time as a television series.
The 1957 book titled The Executioners was turned into the movie Cape Fear in 1962, followed by a remake in 1991.
That film starred Robert De Niro , Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange , Joe Don Baker, and Juliette Lewis.
The narrative revolved around the vengeful journey of Robert, a convicted violent rapist named Max Cady, who utilized his newly acquired legal expertise and its various loopholes to exact revenge upon a previous public defender he held responsible for his 14-year incarceration.
A launch date hasn't been revealed just yet, however, we're aware that Javier Bardem will be taking on the role of Max.
The summary for the 10-part series hints at: 'A tempest approaches for the contentedly wed lawyers, Amanda and Steve Bowden, as Max Cady, a notorious murderer from their history, is released from jail.'
It will be produced by the executive team. Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese too.

Variety revealed earlier this month that Alina Mankin from The Mindy Project will be penning the screenplay and taking on the role of executive producer.
The initial producer of the film, Mike Medavoy, is likewise connected to this project.
The casting specifics haven't been revealed just yet; nonetheless, it's clear this iteration will center on a troupe of young females.
The show’s official synopsis states: “This adaptation of Louis Sachar’s cherished 1998 novel follows a young woman who is dispatched to a correctional facility. There, the harsh warden compels the inmates to excavate holes for an enigmatic reason.”
