The first reactions for Disney Controversy-ridden Snow White reboot images have now been released—and critics have commended actress Rachel Zegler.

Reduced scale of premiere events film were held in Los Angeles and Spain last week, with only Zegler and the film The film's director was captured at the European unveiling event.

However, influencers who participated in the European event—which took place at a castle in Spain—have rated Zegler’s performance as "exceptional."

Paul Klein from Filmhounds described the movie as "competent," although he mentioned that the employment of CGI for the seven dwarfs "diminished the film."

Zegler delivered an impressive performance as the lead, and Gadot added some entertainment value. However, the CGI work for the dwarf characters ended up detracting from the movie. This decision seems puzzling.

In recent years, the movie has become steeped in controversy.

It was revealed in 2021 that Zegler, who is 23 years old, would play the lead role in the live-action Disney reboot. This announcement sparked a racially charged controversy, given that Zegler has Colombian and Polish heritage.

During a 2022 interview, she characterized the classic Snow White narrative as "outdated," referring to Prince Charming as "someone who essentially follows or harasses her" and finding the entire plot strange.

Global politics have similarly impacted the film, as Zegler issued an apology after commenting following US President Trump’s reelection.

Gadot has publicly advocated for Israel, leading pro-Palestinian activists to call for a boycott of the film.

In August 2024, Zegler expressed her gratitude to the fans for viewing the trailer and subsequently posted on X stating, "Always keep in mind, free Palestine."

The film received backlash following the release of casting images which revealed that it wouldn’t feature the seven dwarfs; instead, they were referred to as "magical creatures."

Disney stated they modified the dwarfs "to prevent perpetuating stereotypes present in the initial animated movie" as part of their response. Hollywood Reporter.

A representative from Disney stated: "We are adopting a distinct strategy for these seven characters and have been seeking input from individuals within the dwarfism community."

The new version of Snow White will be showing at theaters starting March 21, 2025.
