Twitter has encountered downtime as thousands of users report problems with their newsfeeds on the social media application.
Reports of issues with the app surged dramatically today afternoon, as indicated by the Downdetector monitoring site.
During the height of the problem around 3 pm, over 1,900 individuals reached out to the service within the previous day, all experiencing difficulties with the application.
The numbers subsequently dropped but have since started increasing once more, reaching approximately 1,700 reports recorded as of shortly past 4 pm in the last 24 hours.
Most recently, users reported having received an error message several times, which said: 'Cannot retrieve posts at this time. Please try again later.'
One commenter on the Downdetector website said: 'Thank you Elon, for being so competent.'
Most problems, or 74 per cent of them, were reported on the app as opposed to the website, which accounted for 25 per cent of complaints.
Only 1 per cent of reports were about the comments.
