Queensland Government Nears Decisions on Olympic Venues

After promising during an election campaign not to do so, the Queensland government is nearing a conclusion on building a new 2032 Olympic stadium in Brisbane.

The concluding infrastructure report suggests building a stadium at Victoria Park and relocating the planned Brisbane Live Arena beside the Gabba.

The organisers are considering suggesting a stadium in Albion as well.

According to information uncovered by the Nine Network, there are proposals to construct the athlete’s village at Bowen Hills through a collaboration between Lendlease and private entities as part of a public-private partnership.

This week, Swimming Australia was approached regarding shifting their events away from the planned Brisbane Live Arena to an alternative location.

The Crisafulli administration has a fortnight to present a strategy.
