Despite losing their previous four matches, the Lakers seem intent on turning things around this Sunday. With star player Luka Doncic rising to the occasion, they aim to get back on track. LeBron James is still recuperating from a groin injury.
Currently boasting 17 points, six assists, and three rebounds at halftime, Doncic hasn’t missed a beat tormenting the Suns since switching from the Dallas Mavericks’ jersey to the Los Angeles Lakers’.
The Slovenian star guard hit a nasty step-back three over Durant Early in the season, they have posed significant challenges for the Suns, who currently sit at the 11th position in the Western Conference, struggling hard to clinch a play-in berth.
In the middle of the game, with microphones capturing every word, Durant shared a serious warning with his teammates regarding their strategy to defend Doncic:
"Doncic isn’t going to be stopped from putting up numbers, bro,” Durant stated while sitting on the bench. “We can’t walk onto the court planning to shut down their top scorer completely. Instead, we have to focus on making things difficult for him. But at the same time, we definitely can’t let him rack up 12 assists and 40 points.”
