Vietnamese Singer Hoa Minzy's 'Bac Bling' Debuts on Top, Surpassing Lisa of Blackpink on YouTube

Vietnamese singer Hoa Minzy’s music video titled "Bling Bac" claimed the first spot on YouTube’s Top Debut Songs list between February 28 and March 6, outperforming Blackpink’s Lisa with her track "FK UP THE WORLD."

The video topped YouTube’s Top Debut Music Videos chart during the same timeframe, garnering 19.5 million views and surpassing prominent debuts like Lisa’s "Born Again" and G-Dragon’s "Drama."

As of March 11, "Bac Bling" held onto its number one spot for new releases, climbed to 15th position on YouTube’s Top Songs chart, and claimed 4th place on the platform’s Trending Music Videos list.

By March 13, it continued to hold a spot within the top five most-watched music videos each day, averaging 3.4 million views per day.

On March 1, "Bac Bling" was released. This track features Hoa Minzy teaming up with other talents from Bac Ninh such as comedian Xuan Hinh, referred to as the "Monarch of Northern Comedy," along with artist Tuan Cry.

Nestled close to Hanoi, Bac Ninh is renowned for its traditional folk music known as Quan Ho. This musical piece showcases significant cultural sites including Do Temple, Dau Pagoda, and Phu Lang Pottery Village, along with regional customs such as betel nut chewing, folksinging performances, and yearly celebrations.

Hoa Minzy stated that the song’s title changes "Ninh" to "Bling" to represent the brilliance of Bac Ninh and its ambitions to gain international recognition.

Hoang Quang Le, the CEO of Techbeat Records, stated Tri Thuc & Znews Bac Bling's triumph marks a significant achievement in Hoa Minzy's career and serves as an encouraging indicator for Vietnam's music sector. This accomplishment demonstrates that Vietnamese music has the potential to rival international standards and create worldwide influence.

Nguyen Thi Hoa, who was born as such, became known when she won the inaugural season of "Star Academy" at age 30 in 2014. She concluded her five-year partnership with a businessman in February 2022 and currently focuses on being a solo parent to her five-year-old boy.
