The Democracy Watch Initiative (DWI) has praised the recent political interaction between Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party's presidential nominee, and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who is an important figure within the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
As stated by its Director of Strategic Communication, Dr. AbdulRazak Ahmed, through an official communiqué, DWI characterized Obi’s visit as a crucial move toward fostering national cohesion and encouraging political cooperation.
The team praised Obi for acknowledging the PDP's dominance as the key rival party and for situating himself within the broader conversation of mainstream politics.
During his trip to Bauchi, Obi paid respects to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, as part of a courtesy call.
DWI pointed out this action as an indication of Obi's dedication to interacting with traditional institutions, which are essential for promoting harmony and cohesion within Nigerian communities.
Governor Bala Mohammed praised Obi for his contributions to nation-building and his commitment to inclusive leadership, highlighting the significance of working together irrespective of political affiliations.
