Beijing, March 15, GNA - Some foreign journalists have praised China's reform initiatives aimed at increasing media diversity and fostering greater exchange programs as part of their ongoing openness efforts.

The journalists highlighted that this trend was crucial for strengthening advocacy and promoting a diverse, inclusive society, which in turn helps build a global community with a shared future for humanity.

"Uniting disparate nationalities in a harmonious and respectful environment may appear extremely difficult. Nevertheless, this is yet another challenge that China, being the host country, has successfully managed," observed Yesey Perez Lopez, a Cuban journalist, during a gathering of carefully chosen international reporters and Chinese authorities in Beijing.

He supported maintaining this cooperation to introduce media professionals in developing nations to new advancements in journalistic practices.

Monica Cheru, a Zimbabwean journalist expressing her views, praised the Chinese people for their resilience, welcoming nature, and strong community spirit.

She mentioned that certain programs like those now being executed by the China International Press Communication Centre (CIPCC) have provided participants with valuable insights into the functioning of Chinese society during these exchange initiatives.

Ayman Abdelwahed Mohamed Amer, an Egyptian journalist, expressed hope that the Center would diligently strive to enhance collaboration among reporters from developing nations.

He highlighted the importance of media professionals becoming more involved in advocacy efforts to tackle the issues faced by marginalized and disadvantaged groups within society.

Even as praising the People’s Republic of China for its dedication to maintaining a steady and organized multipolar world, the Egyptian journalist encouraged professionals to strive to utilize their platforms in promoting peace amid escalating worldwide disputes.

Nikhil Kumar, a Fijian journalist, stated that the CIPCC exchange programs should be considered important for enhancing media diversity.

Ms. Ping Du, Principal Officer of the Secretariat of the China Public Diplomacy Association, affirmed that China remains committed to keeping its doors open for foreign journalists as part of its efforts to strengthen multilateral cooperation.

Regarding the condition of the nation's media sector, she pointed out that by 2024, there were more than 1.1 billion internet users, 25 billion newspaper copies, and 1.8 billion magazine copies circulating in Ghina.

"Chinese citizens have numerous platforms available for expressing themselves freely," she said.

Mr. Yu Lei, who leads the CIPCC, commended the participants of the 2025 Exchange Program for their professional attitude and dedication to the initiative.

He mentioned that China was committed to sharing its experiences with foreign journalists, particularly during this age of modernization, science, and technology, as a means to improve international relationships.

He emphasized the importance of modern media practitioners adopting advanced technologies to maintain effectiveness in their tasks.

The 2025 Exchange Program is being organized through the sponsorship of the CIPCC, working together with the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA).

Participants come from Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, along with Arab nations, Central Europe, and Eastern European countries.

The discussions center around China’s diplomatic efforts and global relationships, socioeconomic progress, foreign affairs, cultural aspects, scientific advancements, and democratic principles.
